The event shuttle buses for Ultra-Trail Australia are the easiest way to access the starts and event venue.
Public Transport
There are a number of public transport services running in the region. All TfNSW services accept OPAL / cashless and are accessible via 131500 the apps or the any trip link below.
RUNNER SHUTTLE BUSES
On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be free runner event shuttle bus service to take runners between Katoomba town centre and Scenic World, and between the town of Leura and Scenic World.
Refer to the bus stops in the bus maps below.
- Katoomba Shuttle - It is a 10–15-minute* ride from opposite the Carrington Hotel to Scenic World. The Katoomba buses will be on a continuous loop during their operating times.
- Leura Shuttle - It is a 20–25-minute* ride from Fairmont Resort to Scenic World. The Leura buses will be a scheduled service within their operating times.
- Blackheath/Medlow Shuttle - check-in, start line shuttle service to and from Blackheath/Medlow Bath. These services will be scheduled with times confirmed and communicated at a later date

SPECTATOR BUS PASS
New for 2027: Spectators wishing to use official UTA bus services will be required to purchase a Spectator Bus Pass.
The Spectator Bus Pass has been introduced to help fund the expansion of the event transport network, allowing us to provide additional services, increased coverage, and a better experience for runners and supporters across race weekend. Introducing this expanded shuttle service increases the options that spectators have, and our hope is that this dedicated event bus service will be more convenient for those moving around various venues frequently throughout the week
This service provides unlimited access to UTA bus services from Thursday to Sunday, allowing spectators to travel throughout race weekend, including:
- Race Expo
- Eligible start lines (excluding UTA22)
- Finish lines
- UTAMiler Checkpoints: Govetts Leap, Perrys Lookdown, Hydro Majestic, Narrow Neck Lookout, Katoomba Aquatic Centre & Fairmont Resort
- UTA100 Checkpoints: Katoomba Aquatic Centre & Fairmont Resort
- UTA50 Checkpoint: Fairmont Resort
- Return services
This pass provides flexible access across the UTA transport network, making it easier for spectators to follow athletes and experience multiple parts of the event throughout the weekend.
Spectators also have the option to use the public transport network, drive to those accessible by car checkpoints, or they can park and walk to/from the venue, an approx. 1km walk.
Runners have the ability to utilise the shuttles throughout race week, included in their entry.
Parking Options
A decision on whether parking will be available at KCC Oval will be made closer to the event, once ground and weather conditions can be properly assessed. In recent years, wet weather and concerns about preserving the condition of the oval have prevented its use for event parking. If KCC Oval parking becomes available, capacity will be extremely limited and will accommodate only a small percentage of event attendees. Spectators who purchase a bus pass and later secure a KCC Oval parking pass may be eligible for a refund of their bus pass, as outlined in the event's transport refund policy
