Athletes who will enhance the competitiveness of the UTA100 and UTA50 races, and the international profile of the event are invited to apply for travel assistance. UTMB ELITE POLICY GUIDELINES

The UTMB World Series has a criteria guidelines for elite runners who qualify for assistance. The table below refers to the UTMB Index required by a runner entering in a race falling under a certain distance. Runners who have an index below the index numbers can still apply for elite assistance, and entries are allocated at the discretion of the event team.

Women

Distance Category 50K 100K

Men

Transport and Accommodation assistance is on a case by case basis at the discretion of the event team.

LEVEL 1

Top international runners will be able to receive special assistance to attend UTA. This will be at the discretion of the event.

Possible Assistance Available:

  • Return international flights to Sydney
  • 4 Nights accommodation in Katoomba
  • Guaranteed race entry
  • Free race entry

LEVEL 2

Selection criteria:

  • Previous podium finishers of Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB
  • Podium finishers of major trail ultra races globally, including all UTMB World Series races

Possible Assistance Available:

  • 3 nights accommodation in Katoomba
  • Guaranteed race entry
  • Free race entry

LEVEL 3

Selection criteria:

  • Previous podium finishers of Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB
  • Podium finishers of major trail ultra races globally, including all UTMB World Series races
  • Podium finishers of major endurance events such as an Ironman
  • Evidence of ability to be a potential race podium finisher

  • Free race entry
